ENTRANCE internal workshops on zero-emission transportation and logistics

The ENTRANCE project supported the series of online workshops on “Countries and regions initiatives supporting zero-emission road freight and logistics” jointly organised by EMEurope and ALICE, and the support of the POLIS Network. Furthermore, we would like to share the main topics that were covered during the workshops and their outcomes, as well as some insightful materials.

Workshop on Swedish initiatives supporting road zero-emission freight and logistics

Main focus: The main goal was to bring together representatives of companies, research, cities, and (national/regional) policymakers to share information on current and planned incentive schemes, especially about research and innovation (R&I) programmes to accelerate the transition towards zero-emission road freight transport and logistics in European regions and countries.

Main agenda points: Swedish initiatives supporting zero-emission road freight and logistics, Update on ERS (Electric Road Systems) status in Sweden, and Lighthouse projects on electrification of heavy-duty trucks with stationary charging. The workshop also included a panel discussion.

Outcomes: The workshop had 73 participants and the recorded session can be found available HERE.

Italian/Piedmontian initiatives supporting road zero-emission freight and logistics

Main focus: The aim was to bring together representatives of companies, research, cities, and (national/regional) policymakers to share information on current and planned incentive schemes, especially about research and innovation (R&I) programmes to accelerate the transition towards zero-emission road freight transport and logistics in European regions and countries.

Main agenda points: The framework of collaboration for zero-emission mobility and logistics in Europe and Italy and Piedmont: policies, strategies, and solutions for zero-emission mobility. The workshop also held a round table discussion about zero-emission in the logistics sector.

Outcomes: the slides of the workshop can be found HERE, HERE, and HERE, and the video introduction can be found HERE.

Zero-emission heavy-duty waste collection vehicles: Market gaps and collaboration to advance innovation online workshop

Main focus: To elaborate on the market analysis of zero-emission waste collection vehicles to advance and uptake the innovation for reducing emissions and congestion in cities. This workshop focused on discussing the current market gaps that are preventing the wider European uptake and collaboration to advance innovation.

Main agenda points: Presentation of the market analysis on the available zero-emission waste collection vehicles in the market, funding opportunities to achieve the implementation of zero-emission waste collection vehicles for urban services.

Outcomes: The market analysis identified 88 different models and solutions of zero-emission vehicles for waste collection in urban areas and it can be found in the ENTRANCE platform. The marketing analysis can be found HERE.
